Are you paid or volunteer staff?: Staff

Area of Contribution (Team Name): SUMO

How are you currently involved with the community?: We are the community managers for SUMO

Location of Work (where do you reside?): Dublin and Berlin

Talk Length (please choose between 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes): 60

Summary: We will talk about the importance of support for user retention and exemplify how contributors can match new contributors to our different areas of contribution (Knowledge Base, Help Forums, Army of Awesome, Twitter helpers and Localization). SUMO is one of the best places for any contributor to get started with Mozilla regardless of their background. We want to show you how amazing and important SUMO is, how to attract people to contribute to SUMO, how to use Firefox Clinics to make support better in each locale and to help more users and grow the Mozilla community.

How your session furthers the MozCamp Goals: This session will aim at contributors who are growing the community with the background information they need to bring people to SUMO so that they can get started. This session will also show our core community how rewarding (and challenging)helping users can be.

Expected Outcome or Deliverable: Expand the ability of contributors to pitch SUMO as a first contribution step, get volunteers on board with our support efforts and why is it important to maximize them.

Desired Audience Type or Skill-set: Any Mozilla volunteer interested in growing the community and SUMO volunteers looking to grow their locale
