      • Async Plug-in Init dropped from 42

    • Main focus:
      • Build sign offs - ESR 38.4.0 (build 2)
      • Pre-beta feature sign offs - New Add-on Signing, Search Suggestions & Unified Autocomplete
      • Sec-sensitive bug fix verification for 42 and esr38.4.0
      • Feature testing - Async Places Transactions (Fx 44), Windows on-screen support (Fx 43)
  • [Ioana] Mobile updates:
    • signed off Fennec 42 Beta 9 - including the fix for hex crashes
    • signed off Fennec 42 Beta 10 which included the second crash fixed we raised last week
    • Signed off the updates fromt he Google Play for Fennec 42 Beta 10 - all good
    • getting ready for RC build for Fennec 42

Major New Desktop Features status

  • [Cornel] Windows 10
    • Started to execute a Firefox 42.0 RC build 1 Acceptance testing on latest Developer Preview (10565), due to latest Windows 10 changes.
      • No major issues found so far, we'll send a report as soon as we're done with it.
  • [Paul] Control Center (Fx 42)
    • released, no updates
  • [Petra] Async Plugin Init (Fx 42) - read-only
    • Disabled in 42.0 RC
  • [Camelia] Tab Visual Sound indicator (Fx 42) - read-only
    • released, no updates
  • [Alexandra] Unified Telemetry & FHR (Fx 42) - read-only
    • released, no updates
  • [Cornel] WebVR (Fx 45)
    • Managed to set up the Oculus on Windows and Mac OS.
    • Created a "How-to" setup guide to facilitate the install on other OSs: https://goo.gl/BX5A4i.
    • Performed exploratory testing on Windows 10x64, Windows 7x64 and Mac OS X 10.10.5.
      • Poor performance here due to the lack of neccessary hardware.
    • Waiting for a follow-up from Josh Carpenter regarding the hardware supply before resuming testing.

Security

Automation (whimboo)

  • All automation was busted due to S3 migration - had to release a new mozdownload rele
  • Postbuild feature has been landed ( https://github.com/mozilla/mozmill-ci/issues/661 ) - it allows us to have a clean-up (sending final report to treeherder, etc.) even for busted builds
    • Currently we cannot submit results to treeherder for releases becuase pulse messages do not contain a revision - Releng has to fix it - for now we need a workaround
