QA/Location Bar

Intro

The location bar, also called the URL bar or address bar, displays a site's web address (URL). It is also called Awesome Bar because it remembers those websites you've visited before, guesses where you're trying to go and displays a list of suggested sites you can choose from. The more you use it, the better it gets.

Testing Approach

A few testing examples can be viewed below.

Change the search engine in the Search bar

• Click on the dropdown menu in the Search bar and select any available search engine.

Add more search engines

1. Click on the dropdown menu in the Search bar and then click the “Manage Search Engines” option.
2. In the Manage Search Engines window, click the “Get more search engines” option.
3. From the newly opened page click on '+Add to Firefox' button to add any available search engines.

Change the default search engine via about:config

Navigate to about:config and search for 'browser.search.defaultenginename' pref. Change it to the search engine you want (E.g.: Yahoo, Bing, etc.)

Remove search engine and Restore Defaults

1. Click on the dropdown menu in the Search bar and then click the “Manage Search Engines” option.
2. Select any installed search engines and click on Remove button.
3. Click on Restore Defaults option.
