ReleaseEngineering/How To/Handle a Failed DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) Slave
From MozillaWiki
< ReleaseEngineering | How To
Certain kinds of slaves are still needed (usually for older branches or releases) but not worth our time to keep running. We refer to these as DNR slaves - an allusion to "Do Not Resuscitate" orders in US healthcare, which instruct doctors to allow a sick patient to die.
Dead DNR slaves are all listed on the slave tracking spreadsheet, with 'DNR' in the bug column. The categories of slaves which should not be resuscitated are given in a second tab on the spreadsheet.
When such a slave dies, mark it as such in the spreadsheet, and file a bug or ask a RelOps person to update the machine's inventory to indicate 'error/service'.
