It’s time for the weekly MinIT update where we tell you all the things I.T. is doing to empower Mozillians in their mission to keep the web a global public resource open and accessible to all.
Two updates today. First from A.V. Ops
The countdown is on! Just 7 more days until the Zoom Room upgrade begins in SFO. The 49 room upgrade will begin on September 23 and end on October 18th. Week 1 will result in 8 newly upgraded rooms. Staff will start to see the upgrade schedule posted on the digital signs and in the conference rooms. Please review those schedules and locate an alternate room while the upgrade is in progress. For additional upgrade information visit the link below or reach out to #avops on slack.
Second and finally. A friendly reminder from the InfoSec team that the first two Mozilla Security policies officially go into effect on October 1st 2019. Please ensure you’ve familiarized yourself with the content available on Mana here. https://mzl.la/2kCRmvW
The two policies cover Mozilla owned devices and Mozilla account handling which leads us to our Policy related security tip of the week.
Never share any type of credentials Mozilla or otherwise in Slack, IRC, or email. Instead give one of our recommended secret sharing platforms a try! All the information on the different sanctioned options are available here. https://mzl.la/2mktGNe
With that. That’s the MinIT. I’ll see you next week.
