Mozilla Web Program Manager Job Description
The Mozilla Web Program Manager will provide overall management and support for Mozilla web dev projects, ensuring their success and movement toward meeting a common goal.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Communication: strong communicator, able to build consensus in order to get things done, across functions and teams.
- Ideation: takes product owners’ ideas and turn them into executable product requirements. Leads high-level sessions for requirements gathering and project planning. Works with product owners to define project goals and success metrics
- Resource allocation: staffs projects with the right team members, making sure each phase is adequately covered.
- Prepares, reviews and delivers signed contracts for external contractors
- Schedules and facilitates project kickoff meeting
- Provides analytics and criteria to make sure projects are properly vetted.
- Prioritizing: identifies any timeline and resource constraints across multiple projects and gets consensus from stakeholders on which projects take priority.
- Acts as the communications conduit to all stakeholders, conducting periodic briefings/status updates on all active projects, simplifying complex topics for non-technical audiences..
- Identifies and manages cross-project dependencies: Oversees and identifies integration points and reuse of interim web products and results. negotiating changes in plans.
- Identifies and mitigates risks across multiple projects
- Facilitates release and product-focused project retrospectives.
- Process and documentation: constantly evaluates processes and improves upon them. Keeps Web dev roadmap current.
