Overview

Key stakeholders of the Firefox OS Participation Program will be meeting in Paris from Tuesday September 29th to Wednesday September 30th, 2015. The 2-day meeting will aim to get full alignment on the overall strategy for participation around Firefox OS and create a first draft of the Q4 plan of initiatives, programs and tactics to support this strategy.

Format

  • Day 1 will focus on getting everyone up to speed and aligned on the current status of Firefox OS, and provide a lay of the land of current contributor activity and growth and spell out ideal/acceptable/undesirable participation scenarios for the next 6 months in the context of our top level goals (as described in our strategy document). The second half of the day will focus on debate and discussion around what needs to happen in terms of initiatives and program in Q4 to support our goals.
  • Day 2 will focus on drafting a general "2015Q4 Roadmap". We will break out into small teams to design and draft key parts of the document and report back to the broader group for feedback.

Objectives and Outcomes

Objectives

  • perform and document SWOT analysis of each major initiative for Fx OS Participation (ie. Foxfooding program, Porting, B2Gdroid, Gaia Development, Add-ons)
  • deep dive into each key functional area of staleholders to analyse status, opportunities and blockers (Data Collection, Marketing/Communications, Research, Product, Legal, QA, Infrastructure, Logistics)
  • run design session for Fx OS Participation Hub
  • host evening Q&A with volunteers over vidyo
  • create at least 3 event templates to test out in Q4
  • stream entire meeting on vidyo and document EVERYTHING
  • draft formal recommendation to Chris on structural/org changes in order to set us up for success in the long term

Outcomes

  • get full alignment on strategy and participation goals for Q4
