Previous Actions

Schedule Update

  • We're now in the fifth week of the cycle
    • Code freeze for FF13 is this coming Friday - this is the final week to land fixes or mitigating patches for bugs on the tracking 13 list
  • Beta 5 is going to build today, and will be released on Friday
    • Please land any beta approved patches by this afternoon PT
  • Barring any urgent blockers, Beta 6 is going to build Monday (5/28, despite Memorial Day) for a release on Wednesday
  • We expect merge day (NOT release day) to occur a day early, 6/4, in support of releasing high quality Aurora/Beta builds before the end of the week

  • Old Flash version update notification to be rolled out on Wednesday.
  • Add-on recommendations to move away from 3.6 coming up this week in the Add-ons Blog.

  • bug 595375 - Old top crash was sitting around for a couple of months with a patch. Landed in m-c.

  • No new known issues.

  • No new knows issues.

  • Most of the issues are known and being tracked.
    • Flash problems
    • Blocking graphics drivers
    • Yandex related crashes
    • ANT(?) did we confirm this?

  • bug 756289 Netflix video errors "you are viewing from more than one tab" (marcia)
  • bug 755974 Block AMD Radeon HD 6290/6300/6310/6320 for Direct3D 9 (marcia)
  • bug 753251 Crash in nsGfxScrollFrameInner::ScrollToImpl
    • Escalated to QA team for testing
  • bug 749010 Perma-orange Linux64 test_memoryReporters.xul crash
    • Jared Wein was working to bisect further (2012-05-18)
  • bug 747055 Crash in RtlEnterCriticalSection | PR_Lock | mozilla::ipc::RPCChannel::WaitForNotify
    • Tested with no success (multiple PDFs with AR 10.1.3 and 9.5.0)
  • bug 719117 Crash @ mozalloc_abort | NS_DebugBreak_P | nsIFrame::GetOffsetToCrossDoc
    • Waiting on needURLs to be actioned before testing

ESR Verifications

  • ESR10 query: tracking-mozilla-esr10 = 13+, status-esr10 = fixed (not verified)
  • QA does not have free cycles to verify until we have candidate builds, as per normal. Our primary focus is QAWANTED and verifications on Beta. However, some of these can probably be cross-verified during Firefox 13 verifications.

  • osx signing for 10.8: nightly signing should be happening today/tomorrow
  • please schedule rollout of "rapid/daily betas" to happen at separately from "silent updates"? If we rollout both at same time, it will complicate debugging any problems. And problems with updates always concern us.
  • instead of "daily betas" can we have a different term that doesnt conflate with "nightly" builds
    • note: these new betas would only happen everytime a change happens on beta - not every day.

  • Update on beta issues:
    • Youtube and Netflix (and possibly others): sound continues to play after the tab is closed.
    • Possibly an issue with uploading files: bug 757284 [1]
  • Feature feedback:
    • most of the feedback from the new tab behavior has been positive. Complaints are mostly around the precise behavior of how things show up there or wanting to rearrange/edit the boxes.
    • New home page reactions are pretty mixed, people say that they're having trouble setting/changing away from it and some people wanted a google bar back. Some users want the newtab page to be part of the home page.

  • bug 757184 – MU Channel Switch from 14.0 to 15.0beta
    • Population Size vs Representative Population, and the affect on discoverability vs urgency/prioritization
  • First release candidate build of mainline/ESR in support of QA - moving this to 5/31 for FF13?
    • QA is asking for 1 extra day due to June 4th Romanian holiday
  • Considering moving the Tuesday meeting time to accommodate non-PT. See this survey.
  • Background updates landed today. bug 307181. This is the last major piece of silent updates and a prereq for frequent/nightly/rapid betas.
