  • has QA signed off on testing?

  • 83 P1 blockers left before beta
    • not as bad as it looks
    • only 26 are OPEN on mozilla-central or tracemonkey (57 are FIXED or resolved on mozilla-central or tracemonkey)

    • October 5th, 11:59pm PDT: Code freeze on mozilla-1.9.2, all P1 blockers landed
    • October 6th: Beta 1 build 1 stared (assuming trees are green)
    • October 7th to 13th: QA testing

    • looking to push out soon, no known blocking issues

Support

  • common-issue+
  • Facebook issues (infinite redirects, etc) mostly related to apps. Clearing cookies usually helps. Bug worthy?
  • Top crash is bug 512406 ... would we be able to ship a blocklist with a point release?
  • Top search term is "cookie". May be related to facebook.
  • Released Firefox Support for Mobile

Product Development

as always, you can read the development meeting notes as well, but here are the big items:

  • talked a lot about P1 blockers remaining and time estimates (see above)
  • about:support landed on branch and trunk
  • personas landed on branch and trunk (try it on getpersonas.com today!)
  • shipped a version of the WinCE build to NVIDIA for inclusion in their reference image
  • we'll be getting a new implementation of liboggplay (on trunk now, 1.9.2 soon)
  • OJI will be re-included for Firefox 3.6 beta 1 so that Java works on OSX
  • out of process plugins is mostly working, should land on trunk soon so we can have it for Firefox 3.7
  • discussed schedule for beta 1 (see above)

Localization

Firefox 3.6 l10n status is at 48 green locales, 43 opted in.

Fennec bugs filed on multi-locale builds, bug 519682 for one with dependencies.

Help would be welcome on testing locale matching on Unix, both in terms of the list of locales on the devices (bug 519696, as well as the general matching heuristics in bug 518809, which seem to have been last maintained in 2003.

Discussion on localizations without owners continuing in .planning, but good news is that we've got new volunteers wanting to help out with Mongolian.

QA

  • Fx3.6 QA - Preparing for beta1; working on or finishing test plans; helping with crashkill
    • TM merge on 1.9.2?
    • Ship to beta, before finishing full functional tests?
  • Testdays
  • Fennec
    • Finished SmokeTests and BFTs on our beta4 candidate
      • QA is waiting for staging links for testing
  • Tegra
    • Tested interim release; it's on nvidia's hands.
    • Verifying bugs; nvidia testing(?); waiting on new OS from nvidia.

Release Engineering

  • waiting for "go" on:
    • unthrottled MU for FF3.0.14->FF3.5.3
    • FF3.5.3, FF3.0.14
