QA Services Team Meeting

  • June 30, 2010
  • Attendees:

Discussion Items

Project Status

CrashKill [tomcat/marcia]

  • Crashkill meeting held on 06/29/10. Attendees were: Tomcat, Laura and Marcia.
    • Discussion surrounding what could be done re: the lack of Mac crash reports - bug 559228. Bug is still in unowned state.
    • Brief discussion of throttling on Beta 1 and Final
    • Marcia added 4.0b1 to crash stats so we can begin to track data as it comes in.

Accessibility Status Update [marco]

  • Perf work is continuing on trunk:
    • bug 573706 landed just before b1 freeze.
    • bug 574312, bug 573955, bug 575576 and bug 575595 are waiting to land. Test results from try-server builds can be viewed here.
    • Found one regression bug 575693 in beta 1, turns out bug 513162 broke the Windows platform wrapper classes of accessibility at virtually the last minute, and I didn't notice because platform-independent tests showed no problems, only the wrapper classes on Windows expose it with screen readers.
  • Firefox 3.6.x is still OK. Lack of reaction from users after the update suggests that OOPP on the accessibility side is indeed running solid, as my tests showed.
  • Thunderbird 3.1 has been well-received in the blindness community.

Summit/Summit Presentations [marcia]

  • Marcia working with Matt and Tony on "QA on a Global Scale presentation" as well as preparing slides for the QA keynote
  • Marcia needs to begin working on the Bugzilla lightning talk
  • Now that the schedule is firming up, need to find a slot for the QA mixer

QA Videos [marcia]

  • QA Promo Video International Version targeted for the Summit
    • Mail has been sent to Henrik, Martijn, Tomcat and Marco re: possible meeting times with Rainer at the Summit. Target is to film one person each day.
  • Some feedback that the current version is too Mountain View-centric.
    • Looking for suggestions on how to proceed - should we:
      • Do the new international video with everyone speaking in their own language - three would be in German and one in Dutch. We could add subtitles.
      • Should the international version but cut into the existing video, or will that make it too unwieldy? The current version if 3 min and 11 second. Promo videos are usually short and punchy.
        • since this Video is found too MV centric and Mozilla is a international project - we should have the internation part in it (tomcat)

Community Events [marcia/tomcat]

  • Tomcat and Marcia attending http://www.communityleadershipsummit.com/
  • Meeting with Mary, Sarah and the PR team to firm up plan for BlogHer on 7/13
    • New Mozilla Meetup group created for the NY City Meetup. We already have some members. Will be tweeting about it to build up some membership.

QMO2 Update [aakashd]

Roundtable

  • We're receiving feedback on input.mozilla.com and have already found two bugs for Fx4.0 b1

Action Items/Takeaways

  • Marcia and Tomcat to work on Crash Report for B2 timeframe. Matt would like it presented at the weekly meeting. Marcia to add to goals list.
  • Summit
    • Henrik to send email about materials needed for Science Fair
    • Need to bring soccer ball to the Summit for video
    • Follow on with the audience members - plans in place for QMO - how do we use QMO to increase these various aspects of community stewardship [matt]
