Account Registration/Management

Python Registration Server (reg/sreg) (Toby)

  • Server core work done. Process for the next couple of weeks:

1) update LDAP to new DN and record structure

2) update syncNode in LDAP to match primaryNode:weave

3) push updated user code

4) push updated a/p, sreg

5) push updated reg

Sync

Python Sync Server (Tarek)

PHP Sync Server (Toby)

Sync Client (philikon/rnewman)

  • This week's s-c train is holding at the station since Instant Sync didn't quite work correctly and is being fixed. ETA today or tomorrow.
  • Identifying work items for Sync platform feature themes, with a focus on War On Spinning the Event Loop. See http://etherpad.mozilla.org:9000/sync-client-roadmap
  • Assorted random bugs taken care of, including handling that should avoid future HMAC mismatches due to 404s or node reallocations during a sync.

Identity

Server (JR)

  • worked with rmiller to cover ID client/server implementations
  • additional tweaks to ID Eng Work Plan to tie requirements to milestones.
  • Additional work on Server admin pages to handle removing logged email addresses
  • Removed RSA from Makefile
  • Allow users to "unverify" addresses
  • Changed the cert confirm email to optionally include the email in the url
  • made the email manager more generic
  • removed invalid site flag from login page
  • converted register page to send emails in bulk.

Web Client (rmiller)

  • Spent 2 days down in Mt View in very fruitful meetings w/ JR and Thunder solidifying requirements and putting together a walkthrough of the entire VEP process. Resulted in some slight revisions to the process.
  • Currently working on (nearly finished) documenting the results of these meetings, possibly more changes coming as the final pieces get hammered out.
  • This is all to better inform the project plan, on which I'll probably be working for the rest of this week.

  • Legal stuff making progress, need to check in with PMM

QA

Testing and Sign-offs (tracy)

  • Python sync server had some bumps on stage but eventually passed QA. Push to production failed, so it was reverted to PHP.
    • Will we be able to verify on stage that production won't have the same problem as Monday Evening push attempt? (answer from tarek: yes, it will be properly load tested on stage)
  • Sync client on s-c is being patched after failing idle/non-idle timers testing. We'll retest when ready to get this onto m-c before the merge to aurora.

Grinder Scripts (ocoutts)

  • Working with Tarek and Owen to get some sort of consolidation of effort in our load test design for sync and future services (i.e. Identity).
  • Need to sit with Pete to get specifics of the load testing done from the Ops side.
  • Follow-up meeting and Sync In site today or tomorrow.

Reports and Monitoring (daniel)

Want to mention Bagheera web data service. Using it for Telemetry. Will also be using it to store results of snippit surveys bug 667088. Any time you want to be able to easily store blobs of data coming from a client, or even be able to serve up non-dynamic data via a key (like memcache), this service could be handy.
