Client Testing and Sign-offs (tracy)

  • Bug 792990 - Reset Sync causes all add-ons to be uninstalled - was discovered last week and appears to affect all versions of Fx since add-on sync was introduced.
    • Manage Sync > Reset tests were not being run. I had classified this under Full Functional tests, which have not been part of the client train test plan. That was a major mistake on my part.
    • I am moving all Sync client test cases from Litmus over to MozTrap this week and will be certain to add Reset tests into the more regularly run Basic Functional Tests.
  • Going forward I will be attempting to encourage more community involvement via the Sync QA Community Action Plan. If successful, this project will allow our test plans to include greater depth and breadth of manual coverage.
    • To come are the detailed guides for each of the contributor activities.
    • We have scores of community involvement inquiries every week for QA. I will mentor those interested in Sync QA.
