We're racing towards a Firefox 4, beta 1 code freeze this week, so if you've ever thought about running nightly builds to try things out early, now would be a great time to start.

Help us find bugs before they bite our beta audience!


Branch work: Firefox 3.5.x / Firefox 3.6.x / Thunderbird 3.0.x

  • Firefox 3.6.4
    • Will not ship tomorrow
    • Build #7 built on Friday (with fix for bug 562198), will go to beta audience today
    • Tentative plan is to ship Firefox 3.6.4 (build #7) to everyone on Thursday, depending on beta feedback
    • Still investigating crash-stats "irregularities"
  • Firefox 3.5.10
    • Tied to 3.6.4 again
    • No known issues

Old Branch work: Firefox 3.0.x / Thunderbird 2.0.0.x


  • Thunderbird 3.1RC2 released; please give it a try and file any bugs you find!
  • Release expected in the next few weeks, assuming that no respins are necessary.





  • We will be moving our Amsterdam POP. Details to follow.
    • Tentative date, June 21.

Release Engineering

  • downtime this Thursday evening (IT maintenance window) to perform disk maintenance on Tinderbox. Tinderbox, and hence TBPL, will be down for several hours. (bug 571300)

  • Desktop Firefox
    • Signed off on 3.7 alpha 5
    • 3.6.4 new build 7, will be testing this today.
    • Working on testplan for FF 4.0
    • Waverly outsource vendor is now doing smoke and BFT test on nightlies

        • Lot's of comments regarding performance of Firefox and the need for this to be the focus of FF 4.0

We're very heads down last week and this, but there are a couple of things to mention:

  • GUADEC 2010 - July 24-30, 2010; Netherlands.  We are sponsoring at the bronze level.  no Mozilla talks schedules.
  • Open Video Conference 2010 - October 1-2, 2010; New York, NY  - Looking over sponsorship opportunities.
  • BlogHer '10 - August 6-7, 2010 - Looking into sponsorship opportunities - we will be having a hotel suite and a presence in the GeekLab.  More details soon!
