Previous Actions

Schedule Update

  • 51 RC2 build (we had some minor issues with ship-it)
  • 51 RC2 fennec
    • Brad: maybe use the beta track on the release app for testing!
  • ESR build on esr-localtest (45.7.0)
  • Softvision (romania) out of office on Tuesday

Add-ons

Stability

Aurora

awsy rate: 5.62 (browser 1.09, content 4.53) telemetry m+c-s from sunday: 2.92 crashes/kuh (-0.54 to the week before, -0.98 to two weeks before, -0.26 compared to last cycle)

[marcia]

Beta

awsy rate: 0.91 (browser 0.68, content 0.23) telemetry m+c-s from sunday: 3.09 crashes/kuh (+0.18 to the week before, +/-0 to two weeks before, -0.07 compared to last cycle)

[philipp] 51 rc1

  • rc1 is affected by the crash pattern from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1316022 for particular amd cpu models (7,5% of browser crashes)
    • will likely go away in the next build (or morph into something else)
    • discussion on uptime ml that we shouldn't care about those cpu models anymore (3.7% of users have them, we shipped 50.0 with the same crash pattern and it caused around 1500 additional daily reports there)

[marcia]

  • Mobile: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1331808 seems bad, but the bug mentions it happens in "limited scenarios"
    • can cause GBs of data usage while app is inactive - very bad/expensive user experience :-/
    • We might consider doing another Fennec RC for this.

Release

awsy rate: 0.93 (browser 0.69, content 0.23) telemetry m+c-s from sunday: 2.77 crashes/kuh (+0.09 to the week before, +0.05 to two weeks before)

[marcia]

  • Spike in http://bit.ly/2jBUPrW - Comments mentions issues with crashing when installing Java. Affects beta as well. Will file a bug after the mtg.

Nightly

[marcia]

Mobile

[marcia]

  • https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=760394 seems pretty high on release (and affects beta as well). It is #3 and #5 which combined total over 20K crashes which is almost as large as the dalvik crash. I added that information to the longstanding bug.
